I didn’t have this dress last weekend for the night I wanted it for, but that just meant I didn’t have to worry about finding an outfit for last night (although I did worry about the accessories after discovering my sewing skills leave a lot to be desired).
If you look closely at the pic you’ll see the bows on the back of the socks, I finished those off at my desk at work yesterday prompting someone to ask if they were for a charity football match - The person next to me (who knows me a bit better) answered the question for me commenting, “It’s nothing so manly as that!”

Yesterday I showed you all the dress I am planning to wear out on the town tomorrow night, but as any lady knows accessories are also important - A dress alone does not an outfit make.
When I picked out the dress I already knew the hair I was going to have to go with it as I already had the wig in the picture above from an outfit I did back at Halloween, but I wanted more than that. It takes real effort to merely look bad and not stupid when cross dressing with a face like mine and so I went shopping to look for accessories for the outfit.
I quickly found a wonderful pair of socks to go with the outfit, or at least I would have if the colours had been reversed. The socks I had found were black with red bows and I needed red socks with black bows to go with the outfit. My problem however was resolved when the shopkeeper suggested I buy a pair of red socks and make the bows myself and the even recommended a haberdasher to me.
Off I ran to the haberdashers to buy some ribbons to make some bows to put onto socks, however I also bought other ribbons as wel as other items and I am now in the middle of putting it all together. So far I have managed to bodge together the hairpiece and and a choker and I have managed to make the bows for the socks, but as it’s getting late I’ll finish making the socks at my desk at work tomorrow inbetween calls.

…You don’t have to wear that dress tonight, but I however shall be wearing it this Saturday after going out last weekend in another dress after this one didn’t arrive in time - I bought it to wear it out and so I shall wear it out, even if not quite for the occasion I planned it for.

Before painting your nails, make sure you have nail varnish remover. This way you won’t have to go into work with your nails still painted for the next two days.

…Or at least they are nicer than the gents where I work. How do I know this? Because for the last 2 days at work I have been using them.
This is particularly amusing for me, because on Saturday night when I was dressed as a lady, both my friends and security were all asking me whether I was going to be using the ladies or gents when I went. As I said to them at the time, I may be in a dress, but as can easily be seen I am a man and so I’ll be using the gents - Besides it’s funny seeing the faces of other men as they realise who is in the toilets with them.
So why am I using the ladies lavatories at work at the moment? Because the gentleman’s loos are out of bog roll and have been since Friday. Thankfully, it’s been a quiet weekend in work thanks to the bank holiday weekend and so I haven’t scared anyone when I have knocked on the doors asking in a deep manly voice, “Is anyone in there?”
And it’s not just the presence of toilet paper that makes the ladies better than the gents, although that is a important factor. The ladies is also roomier and better lit with windows (although to be fair the windows do have signs on them saying, “Do not open”) giving an altogether more pleasant bathroom experience.
Still women like disabled people may have better toilets than men, but at least I can console myself with the thought I can pee standing up and not get my feet wet - Plus on a night out in Bristol men have a choice of pop up urinals or dark alleys and women just get the latter.

Last night I was submitting to the will of my friends, one wanted me to come along and take photos at “his” night where he was the DJ and the other wanted me to come out in drag. He’s heard the stories and seen the photos, but never seen my alter ego in person.
The are no photos of me in my outfit last night, but it was to quote one friend, “…not as bad as I’d expected and yet somehow worse at the same time.” Or rather I have no photos of me, as whilst heading into town on the bus Ii draw more than a few looks and saw various people pointing cameras my way - You’d think they’d never seen a man in a dress before or something.
The reason I was asked to come out in drag was the friend who made the request reckoned that I looked more at ease in a dress when on a night out and after seeing me making new acquaintances left, right and centre he reckons that he was right. I have to admit I am not sure if he is, as I have always maintained being in a dress does break the ice and give a starting point for the conversation.
Amusingly I did cause a little concern when I went to go and find a cashpoint and didn’t come back. Whilst they were all wondering if the worst had happened, I was sat outside the pub with a few people who’d commented on my outfit as I’d passed by and wound up engaging in conversation.
For me though the most humourous aspect of the night was another friend of mine who kept commenting on me doing unladylike things such as drinking cider and black and running in heels, as I pointed out I doubted those were the most unladylike things about me and if they were I’d be worried.
*I actually took another photo about a second before this, but not everyone was looking at the camera. As that photo wass deleted, this is the only photo of the night.
