My First YouTube Video

Last week whilst taking photos over Freshers’ I also shot a few seconds of video as well, as I figured that sometimes photos aren’t quite enough to show exactly what was going on, such as a drinking competition.

I’ve never put anything up on YouTube before, but the last time I tried putting a video up on here I managed to upset my hosting company and get my site temporarily taken down and so rather than work out a fancy solution I have opted for YouTube as a solution, so here as promised at the weekend is the second round of the Calvin Whittle AKA Calvin from Hollyoaks vs a fresher drinking contest - I say a second round, as the first round of this was a dead heat between them.

Anyways the question is the fresher beat a second year and a third year and then held Calvin to a draw - What happened next?

Needless to say, he was quite relieved by the result.

I can’t drive so it can’t have been for me and despite being parked outside my friend’s house it wasn’t for any of them - I can’t help but think that maybe it was less of a gift and more of an unwelcome surprise for someone.

Over Freshers’ Week last week I took thousands of photos, mainly of drunken students. A few of the photos however stand out a little more, either because they turned out particularly well or because they are a little more random than average - The photo above is a good example, I’d met this bunch of freshers earlier in the week and they had offered to help me with straighten my hair.

Upon arriving at their flat though I found out there was a catch, although not exactly a big one - They wanted me to take a photo of them with their 6th housemate who never came out with them; Henry the Hoover. Naturally I obliged, especially after they told me how they had been cutting and pasting images of him over random people who jumped into photos I had taken of them.

The Freshers’ Ball

It’s the end of Freshers’ Week and that meant that last night it was time to have a ball and try to forget that lectures started today. Now that the photos are up in the galleries, I’m off back home to Bristol. I should have gone home this morning to work, but as anyone who heard my voice last night or this morning Freshers’ has taken it’s toll on me and spending a day talking to people at the moment is just not an option.

It’s been a long week and there’s been a lot of music played. Some songs have been so ubiqitous that they fel like they’ve been played almost every night, but there have been plenty of songs that haven’t been played as often and it’s been great hearing songs that I haven’t heard for ages - This morning in the Baa Baas there seemed to be a Kenny Rogers medley play, but even that didn’t compare to earlier in the week when I was sat down editing photos and this came on the jukebox:

It was the first Rampage of the year and it certainly was a wild welcome that Calvin Valentine AKA Calvin from Hollyoaks got last night.

Sorry I couldn ‘t do photos of you all with Calvin with you’re own cameras, but by way of apology here are all the photos I took last night and just as soon as I manage it there will be a video of the downing competition between Calvin and the Fresher.

I Doubt They Scored

Last night was the first Score! of the year and whilst these guys probably didn’t Score from the looks of things a lot of other people certainly did.

As ever the photos are up in the galleries and I’d just like to take a moment to say that although I look wasted in the photos I am sober (and to the people that were asking, yes that is my real hair).

I know I said the photos should be up by lunch time last night when I was taking the photos, but I had trouble getting up for breakfast - The photos are now up though so if last night is a bit of a blur, rest assured the photos aren’t.
